The History of Bangladesh: From Ancient Empires to the Independent Nation

Bangladesh, formerly known as East Pakistan, has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The region was ruled by various empires, including the Maurya, Gupta, and Pala dynasties, before being conquered by the Muslim Mughal Empire in the 16th century. During British colonial rule, East Bengal and Assam were part of British India, and the region played an important role in the Indian independence movement.
